JEWELLERY CARE GUIDE
Our pieces are manufactured with a layer of Gold plating over metals such as sterling silver, stainless steel, copper and zinc alloy depending on the piece. With gold plated pieces, extra care must be taken to ensure their longevity and to avoid tarnishing.
Recommendations to ensure the longevity of your jewellery pieces is to avoid contact with:
- Chemicals
- Put on Perfumes well before your Jewellery
- Put on any Lotions well before your Jewellery
- Put on Tanning Products well before your Jewellery
- Makeup prior to putting on your Jewellery
- Put on and Oils (or avoid if possible) well before Jewellery
We are attempting to improve our selection of base materials and thickening the layer of 18K Gold plating. Some of our Sterling Silver 18K Gold Plated pieces from our Hermosa collection are completely shower safe. However, we still recommend drying them off post shower to avoid any chemical/moisture residue that can eat away at the plating over time. Exposure to chlorinated or salty water must be avoided at all times as the chemicals will cause our Gold plating to transfer/fade to the Sterling Silver base.
Storage of your Jewellery:
Dry & Airtight is our recommendation. Away from sunlight in our Hermosa packaging is ideal.
Properly storing your pieces you will ensure their longevity and you’ll be able to love and wear them for a very long time.
